Dr. Sinha to speak at 109th NYS Meeting in Paris/Normandy

Dr. Sinha will be attending the 109th Annual Meeting of the New York section, American Urology Association, to be held in Paris/Normandy, France from September 11th – 17th, 2011. Dr. Sinha is part of the invited faculty and will be speaking about Men’s Health: Experience with Male Sling Surgery for Male Stress Urinary Incontinence.

Dr. Sinha, Board certified urologist has been very actively involved in presenting papers in national and International Urology meetings. In April of 2009, Dr. Sinha was invited to the American Urological Association Meeting in Chicago as a director to give a course on office-based surgery. He was invited to attend Surgery in male sling in Paris, France, July 2008. He was invited to present three papers in September 2008, in Berlin, Germany (AUA-N.Y.) on BPH and prostate cancer. He was a moderator on laser surgery for BPH at AUA in Chicago April 2009, Dr. Sinha’s expertise is on Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Dr. Sinha has performed laser surgery for BPH or obstruction in more than 500 patients since 2005, under local anesthesia or IV sedation (MAC) in Edison office. Board certified Anesthesia doctor provides Anesthesia service in Edison office. Urologists from different parts of the country have come to visit him to observe and learn how to set up office-based laser surgery. He has evaluated all types of different laser treatment for BPH and obstruction such as GREEN LIGHT LASER, EVOLVE LASER, and REVLOX LASER. He has presented papers on office-based laser surgery for BPH and outcome.

Dr. Sinha is one of the few urologists in the country who has shown that laser surgery for BPH can be performed with safety, quality and in a cost effective manner under IV sedation or local anesthesia in the office as an outpatient with satisfactory results.
CRYO FOR PROSTATE CANCER
Dr. Sinha is the first urologists at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital who started a cryosurgery for prostate cancer as an outpatient basis in April 2009. He has been very successful doing cryosurgery for primary prostate cancer or recurrent prostate cancer after radiation treatment since 2004 in Central New Jersey Hospital.
LAPAROSCOPIC CRYOSURGERY FOR
KIDNEY CANCER
For renal cell cancer, Dr. Sinha has started performing laparoscopic cryoablation of the localized renal cell tumor less than 4cm with very good success. Percutaneous cryosurgery for renal cell cancer can be done as outpatient under CT guidance, in a selected group of patients with tumor less than 3cm.
Dr. Sinha has been involved in minimally invasive surgery to keep up with current technology in his practice. He enjoys teaching urology residents at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and is very well liked. He has earned great respect at RWJ University Hospital as an excellent surgeon and a fine teacher.
MALE SLING SURGERY
INDICATIONS: Trans-Obturator Male Sling is intended to be used for the treatment of male stress urinary incontinence post-prostatectomy.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Trans-Obturator Male Sling should not be performed in patients with urinary infection or severe Incontinence.
PRECAUTIONS/ADVERSE EVENTS: the most common side-effects include wound infection, as with the placement of any sling, punctures or lacerations of blood vessels, nerves can occur. Patients who experience any complications following surgery are instructed to immediately contact their surgeon. Dr. Sinha has performed many male-sling Surgery with good results.
FEMALE SLING SURGERY
INDICATIONS: Mid-urethral sling is indicated for use in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Mid-urethral sling should not be used for patients who are pregnant, have urinary or vaginal infection or are not surgical candidates.
PRECAUTIONS/ADVERSE EVENTS: The most common side-effects include post-operative bleeding and urinary retention following surgery. Other potential side-effects include wound site irritation and infection. As with the placement of any sling, punctures or lacerations of blood vessels, nerves, the bladder or bowel may occur and may require surgical repair. Patients who experience any complications following surgery are instructed to immediately contact their surgeon.
ROBOTIC
PROSTATECTOMY
Robotic prostatectomy has become very popular for localized prostate cancer. Dr. Sinha has attended course and lab in order to receive certification for robotic prostatectomy at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He still performs mini incision open radical retropubic prostatectomy, depending upon the patient’s choice.

Dr. Binod Sinha gave presentation at AUA in Washinton D.C. on May 15th 2011. His talk was very well received by other urologists. Dr. Sinha attended a course on Laser surgery and erectile dysfunction and male incontinence. Dr. Sinha attended podium session to keep up with current treatments and new technology
to offer to his patients at Urology Care of Central New Jersey.
